Guided tours 50€/tour

In the spring of 1918, you crouch behind a gravestone in Kalevankangas, clutching a rifle in your hands. You and your comrades cannot surrender now. You cannot surrender in Taipale a couple of decades later either, even though the frost bites your fingers, making them almost too clumsy to hold a weapon. Surrender is still forbidden a few years later, in the middle of the hottest summer, when Soviet tanks have just burst through the front and turned their course towards your position. This is the everyday life of an infantry soldier.

To book a guided tour, please send us an email or contact us by phone. This way we will ensure that a guide is there when you arrive. The museum can also be opened by appointment if your group is coming outside normal opening hours. Group size max. 35 people. For larger groups we will have to book additional guides for which we charge an additional €50/guide. Guided tours are also available in English.

You should book a minimum of 45 minutes for the tour. The museum’s exhibitions are located in two buildings and we can guide either one or both buildings, depending on your wishes. The first building contains the basic exhibition. This exhibition looks at the history of independent Finland through the eyes of the infantry, covering the years 1918-1945. The second building houses the museum’s special exhibitions.
